The 50th Anniversary Gala will be a very special celebration bringing together members, friends, WMG scholars, and supporters of women in media to celebrate 50 years of Women's Media Group! It will include an awards ceremony honoring women who embody WMG’s values of community, diversity, and women’s empowerment; a cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvres; a keynote interview; and a silent auction to fundraise for the WMG Educational Foundation, which is central to our mission to provide women with educational opportunities and financial assistance at all stages of their careers.

Since it was founded in 1974, WMG has focused on supporting women pursuing careers in publishing, journalism, and all areas of media. Over the past five decades, our New York-based nonprofit has brought together women in media to collaborate with, learn from, inform, and mentor one another. Together, we seek to advance the position of all women through the power of communication and media.

Just announced!

Gretchen Rubin is one of today’s most influential and thought-provoking observers of happiness and human nature. She’s an unusual combination: a literary writer who explores how we can put transcendent ideas into practice. She’s the author of five New York Times bestselling books, including The Happiness Project. On her top-ranking weekly podcast, Happier with Gretchen Rubin, she discusses good habits and happiness with her sister Elizabeth Craft. Her award-winning Happier app helps people customize and use habit-tracking tools. She makes frequent appearances on TV and radio and in print, and is in much demand as a speaker. Rubin started her career in law and was clerking for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor when she realized she wanted to be a writer. She lives in New York City with her family. Gretchen will be interviewed by Kathy Sandler, WMG President Emerita, WMG Anniversary Gala Chair, and Senior Manager, Penguin Random House.

We hope to see you on March 25th to commemorate this significant milestone!
