We’re excited to welcome Alexandra Alter, publishing reporter for The New York Times, and Maris Kreizman, essayist, critic and host of The Maris Review on Lit Hub, for a far-ranging discussion on the seismic shifts in how we’re discovering, buying and consuming books and what the future holds for authors, publishers, retailers and readers.

Proceeds from this program will benefit the Women’s Media Group Educational Foundation.

Meet the speakers:

Alexandra Alter is a reporter for the New York Times, where she has covered the publishing industry and the literary world since 2014. Prior to joining the Times, she reported on arts and culture for The Wall Street Journal, and before that covered religion for The Miami Herald.



Maris Kreizman is the host of The Maris Review, a literary podcast from Lit Hub. An essayist and critic, her work has appeared in the New York TimesThe Wall Street JournalNew York Magazine, Vanity FairThe AtlanticThe New RepublicPublishers Weekly, and more. She created Slaughterhouse 90210, a blog and book that celebrates the intersection of literature and pop culture. She was previously the Editorial Director of Book of the Month, the Editorial Director of digital content at B&N.com, a publishing outreach lead at Kickstarter, and an Editor at Free Press/S&S.
