Join WMG for an insightful conversation led by executive recruiter and Headhunter Confidential: The Unwritten Rules for Landing a Job You Love author Kathy Bremer. Kathy will share practical strategies for navigating career transitions, whether you are searching for a new role in your current field or exploring opportunities related to your dream career.

You will also hear from WMG members Gabby Gayagoy Gonzalez and Betsy Loredo about their own career journeys and lessons learned along the way. Bring your questions and leave with actionable insights and concrete next steps for your professional future.

Meet the speakers:

Kathy Bremer combines deep expertise in talent acquisition with a genuine passion for helping people find work they are meant to do. In her book, Headhunter Confidential: The Unwritten Rules For Landing A Job You Love, she draws on nearly two decades as a headhunter and five successful career transitions to reveal the secrets of landing work that brings joy and meaning. A seasoned speaker, Kathy has been interviewed by NPR and The New York Times. She has served on or chaired over a dozen boards of directors, including Global Impact, International Women’s Forum of Georgia, and Leadership Atlanta. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Harvard University, where she wrote for The Harvard Crimson and played varsity squash and tennis.

Gabrielle Gayagoy Gonzalez (she/her/siya) is WMG's Fundraising Co-Chair and serves on the Executive Committee of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, where she also co-chairs the Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Committee. She was named to Diversity Woman Media’s Power 100 List for her role in increasing diverse representation in the media, and is a co-author of Racial Justice at Work: Practical Solutions for Systemic Change. As a recruiter and DEI specialist for Static Media, Gabrielle increased the hiring of underrepresented writers by more than 50 percent and wrote the company’s first guide for developing inclusive content. She has also created marketing content for brands such as Lovevery and Weight Watchers.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Loredo is a multiplatform editor and writer who sighs over the sweeping ambiguity of “content creator” but likely would be labeled as one. She has produced print, audio, and digital material for children and their families in nearly every possible format during three decades at Sesame Workshop. As a prolific freelancer, Elizabeth is a seasoned writer, copywriter, and copy editor of both short- and long-form work, for every age demographic, with clients ranging from The New York Times Magazine to Nickelodeon. Laid off in a 2025 staff reduction, her job hunt includes all storytelling media, but a dream role would be in print and digital publishing.

Attendees will join WMG Membership Co-Chair Jodie Cohen just a short train ride from the city for a day of tanning, swimming, and ice cream at Marvel on the boardwalk. We recommend you bring a towel, sunscreen, picnic lunch, and your favorite summer book.

Getting there from Manhattan: the Long Island Rail Road offers a 10:06 a.m. departure direct from Penn Station to Long Beach. You can also catch the 9:54 a.m. from Grand Central that includes a transfer at Jamaica. The cost is $22.50 roundtrip.

Getting there from Brooklyn: there is a 9:44 a.m. train from Atlantic Terminal with a transfer at Jamaica to the 10:28 a.m. train (the one that’s direct from NYC). The cost is $22.50 roundtrip.

Lynne Williams is the Executive Director of the Great Careers Network, which provides development and networking for career transitions and management. Lynne was included with other LinkedIn peers on the 2022, 2023, and 2024 lists of the Social Index Top 50 LinkedIn Experts International, and on Influence Digest's Top 15 LinkedIn Experts in Philadelphia. She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation on the topic of LinkedIn for Job Seekers.
